Reader's reviews on The Siege of Mr Khan's Curry Shop from Amazon.

Characters you get behind. Thought provoking subtext. Good twists. Window to the ignorance that existed in 1970s and unfortunately is regaining momentum in our society today.

Great read. I could really picture the people and places in this book. Twists and turns.. What happens next? You must write the sequel

I thoroughly enjoyed this and, like with any good book, I became invested with the characters and was a little sad to let them go. Charlie Robinson is a fantastic story teller and this one is as fresh and colourful as it is dark and complex in places. I’m very much looking forward to reading more from this author.

Knowing the author, I felt compelled to read his fist book! It’s a great short read, very indicative of its era. Written before the days of mobile connectivity and political correctness, the plot twists in every chapter. The characters are at the same time moving, hilarious and believable. Can’t wait to read Charlie’s next book…

I really enjoyed this! I purchased this book a few years ago and never started it.

The writing style was very engaging and a good story where the tension built throughout the book with mysteries solved throughout as the main character seeks the truth.

My one criticism is around the character development in the main antagonist Lard, they felt a bit one dimensional at times which may have been the authors intention (some people are just evil!)

A great read and looking forward to Charlie's next book!

What a fab read. I read this in two sittings! A complete mixture of characters, some you'll love and others you'll take an intense dislike to. If this gets made into a film I can't wait to see who'd play Janine, she is by far the most underrated character, certainly worthy of her own book!

What makes us think someone is good or bad? Perception is often wrong. The author takes us on a journey of discovery with his main character, Billy. A nice cast of characters add depth and support to the storytelling. Life ain't easy. We each need to make our way. Billy finds his while remaining true to himself and his friends.
