A very busy few weeks lately! Not only am I getting the new novel ready for publishing, but there's also the running. Esther Chilton sent me the final edit of my book, and as always, she has done such a wonderful job. Now begins the formatting and final examination. Hopefully, it will be published in the next two weeks. The cover looks darker than it is because of the dark background.

Running Adventures
Anyway... back to the plot. Yup, yours truly is a winner (twice, in fact)! We had the Northern Relay Championships here a couple of weeks ago, and I found myself in the A team. No pressure then! Three in a team, and each one of us ran 5k each. Guess who went last of the three? When you take over as last man in a relay and your team is ahead, trust me, it's not fun! Haha. But best foot forward, as they say. We won with a margin of five minutes.
The 10k Challenge
The following day, I had a 10k race. I wasn't sure how much the previous day had taken out of me. There was only one way to find out, I guess. An undulating road race with forecast rain—definitely not something I was looking forward to. Luckily, the rain held off, and the undulations were not as high as I'd expected. Once again, it was best foot forward.
To have a team win one day is fab. To then have an individual win the following day? Well, what can I say! There was a bottle of red wine opened that night. 😂
Book Buzz
News of the new book has been shared on social media. Hopefully, it will be well received. I mean, who doesn't love a good thriller, right? I can't wait for you all to dive into the twists and turns I've crafted.
So, while I juggle running and writing, I find myself reflecting on how these two passions intertwine. Running gives me the energy to write, and writing fuels my desire to run. It's a beautiful cycle, really.
The Joy of Running
Running has taught me so much about perseverance. There are days when I want to throw in the towel. You know, those days when your legs feel like lead and your motivation is hiding under the couch? But then, I remember the thrill of crossing that finish line. The rush of adrenaline, the cheers from the crowd, and the sweet taste of victory.
And let's not forget the camaraderie! There's something special about sharing these experiences with fellow runners. Whether it's celebrating a win or commiserating over a tough race, we bond over our shared love for the sport.
Writing as an Escape
On the flip side, writing is my escape. When I sit down with my laptop, I can create entire worlds. I can make my characters face challenges that I can only dream of in real life. It's a cathartic experience, really. And sometimes, I find that my running experiences seep into my writing. The thrill of competition, the struggle against fatigue, and the joy of triumph all find their way into my stories.
So, as I gear up for more races and the upcoming book launch, I feel grateful for both passions. They keep me grounded and inspired.
Have fun and happy trails! x
