What's It All About?

I'm told there are 600 million live blogs out there. Technically this means I could write anything. With so much competition the chances of anyone reading mine are pretty slim. But, hey ho I'll give it shot.
Firstly, I won't be giving advice on writing. There are more than enough people doing that already. But, hey, if you have a question drop me a line.
I may deviate from books and writing from time to time (I deviate a lot) but for now I'll stick to books. Specifically my book, The Siege of Mr Khan's Curry Shop. I started this book around twenty years ago. It was just an idea that rattled around in my head at first, but slowly (yeah I know twenty years is SLOW) it became a story I needed to write.
The main character, Billy, is not too far removed from myself. Growing up on Bradford council estate in the early 1970's, certainly had it's moments. When you witness racism, bullying, abuse and social disorder it has it's affects. Billy just wanted a decent life but found it impossible in the environment he lived in. He had to hide or confront it, and so he became confrontational. He was a lover not a fighter but had to become a fighter to survive. If you have read the book or read it in the future I would be interested in your take.
They say the average blog is 1400 words long. Personally I like short and sweet so I'll leave it there for now. If you are like me you'll be happy about that. It's a start. Until next time, be safe, be happy.
